Elles servent \u00e0 produire de la chaleur, de l\u2019\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 ou des carburants. Les techniques de cog\u00e9n\u00e9ration permettent de produire \u00e0 la fois<br>                      chaleur et \u00e9lectricit\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Les principales \u00e9nergies renouvelables sont&nbsp;:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>l\u2019\u00e9nergie hydro\u00e9lectrique&nbsp;;<\/li>\n<li>l\u2019\u00e9nergie \u00e9olienne&nbsp;;<\/li>\n<li>l\u2019\u00e9nergie de biomasse&nbsp;;<\/li>\n<li>l\u2019\u00e9nergie solaire&nbsp;;<\/li>\n<li>la g\u00e9othermie&nbsp;;<\/li>\n<li>les \u00e9nergies marines.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Ces \u00e9nergies sont th\u00e9oriquement in\u00e9puisables puisque renouvelables. Toutefois, elles pr\u00e9sentent des potentiels variables selon la localisation g\u00e9ographique, les facteurs climatiques, etc. Elles n\u2019ont que peu d\u2019impacts n\u00e9gatifs sur<br>                      l\u2019environnement. En particulier, leur exploitation ne donne pas lieu \u00e0 des \u00e9missions de gaz \u00e0 effet de serre. Elles sont donc l\u2019un des facteurs de lutte contre le changement climatique. Ceci peut \u00eatre traduit par des externalit\u00e9s<br>                      qui prennent en compte les b\u00e9n\u00e9fices environnementaux de ces \u00e9nergies. Mais elles ne sont pas encore pleinement comp\u00e9titives, sauf pour la g\u00e9othermie basse et haute enthalpie, l\u2019hydro\u00e9lectricit\u00e9, le bois-\u00e9nergie.
